Ann H. Mason
November 21, 1949 – April 19, 2017
Beverly Ann Hooper Mason, 67, of Winterville, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Born on November 21, 1949 in Washington, N. C., she was the daughter of the late Milton V. Hooper and Nita Midgett Hooper of Stumpy Point NC. She was married to Jack Mason who preceded her in death.
Nothing meant more to Ann than her family. She grew up in Stumpy Point, graduated from Manteo High School and moved to Virginia Beach, Va. when she married Jack. They later moved to Swan Quarter where they raised their family.
Ann worked at the East Carolina Bank for many years and then retired from the Department of Social Services in Hyde County. Ann and Jack moved to Greenville after retirement, and loved being near their children.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Swan Quarter. Steve Bryan will officiate.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Tracy Gibbs and her husband, Marshall; a son, Todd Mason and his wife, Becca; three beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Porsha and Mary Katelyn; a brother, Doug Hooper and his wife, Sheryl of Stumpy Point and a sister, Sharon Eure and her husband, John of Rocky Mount.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Ann Mason, 133-A Emily Drive, Winterville NC and following the memorial service on Sunday in the fellowship hall.

Bea and I are so sorry for this loss to your family and so many others. Ann was special to us as we worked with her at DSS. She came and decorated my house for our wedding back in 1990. We will never forget that act of kindness. Our prayer go out to each family member. God bless you.
